Monica Barajas (@_princessmay_23) did not reveal how long she has been working for the multinational e-commerce company, but some of her TikTok videos show viewers what she does on a daily basis I am dedicated to that.
In a recent two-minute clip, Barajas was recorded packing items while listing reasons why she “doesn’t like working at Amazon.”
As of Tuesday, Barajas clip It recorded over 1.7 million views.
What’s wrong with working at Amazon?
As an example, Barajas said warehouse work itself is monotonous. “You do the same [expletive] I did this over and over again for 3 months. ” He also said that workers were monitored fairly closely and were given only seven minutes for bathroom breaks.
“The restroom is a 3 minute walk round trip.” Barajas said. “What can I say? [expletive] Will you do it if necessary? [expletive]? ”
In this context, Barajas said Amazon closely monitors the productivity of its employees and can tell “how many boxes they are making per hour.” So if an employee messes something up, it’s easy to track, Barjas said. In fact, most of Mr. Barajas’ complaints centered on the fact that warehouse employees were held under tight reins.
For example, the employee said he had to pass through a metal detector when entering and exiting the warehouse and had to register when he entered and left “so I knew when I was in and out.”
“I can’t lie about what time I’ll be there,” Barajas said.
Otherwise, some of the employee’s complaints might have been specific to her Amazon warehouse. She said there are very few people in her workplace with seniority, as there is only one manager overseeing 30 people. And she said the tape machine used to close packages is always malfunctioning.
Additionally, Barajas said she is forced to engage with her co-workers through activities such as group stretching, even though she doesn’t trust them.
“Well, worry about the bills, honey, that’s not what I do,” Barajas said of his colleague.
Amazon employees register work-related complaints
To be sure, Barajas isn’t the first Amazon employee to say his job is far from perfect. In other social media posts, her colleagues have similarly complained about their jobs.
In one post from November, an Amazon employee who works in a robot-assisted facility said he was worried about being injured by the machines. That same month, another employee said he and a co-worker were asked to work an extra hour during the riots. Recent daylight savings time changes and went on strike in protest.
Amazon’s treatment of its employees has been a hot topic for a long time. The company has been widely reported for trying to crush labor unions and silence workers who protest poor working conditions.
However, other workers said there are some benefits to working for this company. In the 2022 post of r/AmazonFC subredditasked one user, what are the “pluses” of working at Amazon? Commenters noted at the time that Amazon clearly offers generous health benefits and that employees receive weekly paychecks. Another redditor said that workers get a fair amount of exercise from their daily manual labor jobs.
“I think there are more positives than negatives in my book,” said one employee in the subreddit thread. “Negative things are monotonous. [expletive] And zero respect from management. ”
And according to surelyWarehouse employees often earn between $9 and $27.25 per hour, depending on the job and seniority. It said the average employee earns nearly $18 an hour, which is 13% higher than the national average.
Can Amazon employees use the restroom?
Yes, but there have been recorded complaints of being under so much pressure that they have to pee in bottles. According to redditthere is no policy prohibiting bathroom breaks, and it is common for warehouse workers to take regular breaks.
However, many warehouse workers report that using the restroom can cause ‘.Idol” time. Therefore, in theory, long bathroom breaks could be tracked and negatively impact workers.
Some commenters said it was difficult to sympathize with Barajas’ situation, as working for Amazon is said to have many perks.
“People who complain about working at Amazon simply don’t want to work,” said one man. “That’s easy.”
“I’m a teacher so I only have 0 minutes to go to the bathroom,” another wrote. “Amazon looks pretty good.”
A third viewer added: “People are complaining about Amazon because it’s outperforming all other jobs like fast food and retail.”
Other Amazon employees seem to agree with the redditor. Many said the work was tedious but ultimately rewarding.
“You just have to scan something every five minutes,” said one woman. “I worked at Amazon for five years. [Expletive] A breeze. I’ve realized that people who complain about Amazon just have a bad work ethic. ”

“I’ve been doing this job for 27 years,” another employee added.
“It’s that simple. I’ve been with Amazon for 9 years,” a third employee wrote. “You just come to work, do your job, and leave. Simple. It’s easy.”
