Behind America’s climate change efforts, a web of foreign interests is quietly pulling the strings behind the scenes to undermine America’s energy security. As the Biden administration continues to advance policies harmful to domestic energy production, the growing influence of foreign organizations to shape our nation’s climate change policy and our recommendations to undermine our energy security and economic stability. It is important to understand how it works.
Recent revelations have revealed an alarming reality. Groups linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are funneling millions of dollars to climate change advocates and nonprofits in the United States, with the aim of ushering in an all-electric future and the electrification of the transportation sector.
Foreign influence on American climate policy is not a new phenomenon. It has been around for decades and involves different countries. Almost a decade ago, a similar pattern was seen in Russia and Europe. Then-NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen accused Russia of actively engaging with environmental groups to deepen Europe’s dependence on Russian gas imports.
Russia was no doubt pleased to see the White House’s recent announcement to block future permitting of planned LNG terminals until after the November presidential election. While the move would provide relief to Putin’s fledgling economy, it would deal a devastating blow to the U.S. LNG industry and the thousands of Americans employed in the sector. Moreover, without sufficient U.S. LNG exports, Europe will inevitably have to rely on Russia again for its energy needs, putting thousands of American jobs at risk.

Ironically, while environmentalists claim they want to reduce global emissions, this misguided action has ensured increased use of coal and LNG from Russia, both of which contribute to global emissions. It would do exactly the opposite because it would increase emissions. From a national security perspective, the Biden administration is sending contradictory signals by asking Congress for help in aiding Ukraine while at the same time empowering President Putin by restoring the ability to use energy as a weapon. .
Reviews of LNG export applications have already slowed, increasing from 49 days under the Trump administration and 155 days under President Obama to more than 330 days under the Biden administration, according to API.

As President Joe Biden acknowledged in his last State of the Union address, sustained global demand for oil and gas remains undisputed. Our dependence on oil and gas extends to critical sectors such as hospitals, schools, transportation, technology, and government.
Unfortunately, the Biden administration has refused to acknowledge the importance of strong domestic energy production to U.S. national security, and has prioritized environmental groups (and China’s support) over the long-term strength and security of the United States. By prioritizing the appeasement of groups (even those that have received aid), they are playing into the enemy’s hands. Nation.
As expected by his global competitors, President Biden has embraced a complete transition to renewable energy, especially solar energy. Ironically, much of the solar industry’s supply chain relies on Chinese manufacturing and state control of critical minerals.
Renewable energy sources have potential, but cannot provide the stable baseload power that is essential for a reliable energy grid. Recent actions by the Biden administration, including announcing extreme environmental standards for power plants and delaying liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure projects, have inadvertently emboldened geopolitical rivals such as Russia, China, and Iran. .
