alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai received a total compensation of $226 million in 2022. Most of that was through stock compensation. According to securities report Filed by the company on Friday.
Pichai was awarded $218 million in equity last year through a triennial equity grant. His annual income was $2 million from 2020 to 2022, the filing said. The CEO’s compensation package also included about $6 million for personal security in 2022.
Other Alphabet and Google key executives earned about $22 million to $35 million in annual stock awards, according to filings.
The report comes as Alphabet is beginning cost restructuring measures including layoffs that cut 12,000 employees, or 6% of its workforce, in January. Google’s finance chief Ruth Porat announced in early April that the company would cut employee laptops and services to further reduce costs.
