ADM has published its second annual report detailing accelerating global efforts to advance regenerative agriculture practices. This comprehensive report includes:

– Explaining ADM’s definition, principles and approach to regenerative agriculture.
– Detailed updates on the company’s regenerative agriculture programs across four regions: North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
– Details and examples of how ADM’s work extends across the value chain by connecting thousands of farmers around the world with technical assistance partners such as Farmers Business Network, Map of Ag, American Farmland Trust, Ceres Rural and Bayer SA, as well as downstream customers such as Ooni Pizza Ovens and The J.M. Smucker Co.
– Achievements and achievements for 2023 include reducing our Scope 3 footprint by 310,000 metric tons of CO2e and sequestering 263,700 metric tons of CO2, the equivalent of taking over 135,000 cars off the road for one year.
– Reaffirms the company’s new expansion goal of 5 million acres by 2025, which has the potential to reduce and sequester the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by powering 125,000 homes for a year.

“Consumers are demanding more sustainably sourced products, and farmers know that improving soil health and biodiversity, input efficiency and carbon intensity are good for their business and important for the future,” said Greg Morris, president of ADM’s Agricultural Services and Oilseeds business. “And that’s no different for ADM. Regenerative agriculture is a great example of how we partner with producers to support agriculture, strengthen the global food system and meet growing and evolving commercial demands while serving our purpose and building a brighter future. This report is a key component of that effort. We believe it’s important to share our progress in this space, show the data and make our goals concrete so stakeholders understand what our efforts mean and how it translates into real progress. We’re proud to lead the space as we continue to accelerate toward achieving 5 million acres of regenerative farmland by 2025.”

ADM takes a broad and ambitious approach to regenerative agriculture, working with partners across the value chain. ADM understands that farmers are stewards of the land and offers a range of programs to suit every farmer. We cater to the diverse needs of farmers and empower each farmer in the way that best suits their situation. This includes direct financial incentives, straightforward processes and cutting-edge technology that ensure low barriers to entry, and extensive support and guidance from in-house and third-party experts.

At the same time, retail and CPG industry leaders understand the urgency of scaling regenerative agriculture to meet consumer demand, and ADM is partnering to connect consumer brands with farmers to meet those needs.

ADM’s innovative, farmer-centric approach to regenerative agriculture has resulted in the restoration of more than 2.8 million acres in 2023 and has earned the company honors including being named a finalist for the 2023 Reuters Responsible Business Award and the 2024 Fast Company World Changing Ideas Award. ADM continues to accelerate its efforts with a goal of 3.5 million acres of regenerative farmland by 2024 and 5 million acres by 2025.
