The Panthers Renovating Bank of America Stadium That’s a very good thing, one of the team’s veteran receivers said Monday.

Adam Thielen noted the need to update Carolina’s practice facility, which remains at the stadium after plans to build another facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina, fell through.

“I think they’re a little behind. Regarding the facilities” Thieren told Alex Zietlow. Charlotte Observer“We probably have the worst facilities in the NFL right now, and I don’t think anybody would argue with that. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. We’ve got to play football and win games.”

“So it’s great to hear that commitment to our players and coaching staff that, ‘You guys work hard, we’re going to give you better facilities and we’re really going to give you the resources to go out and win games.’ I’m very excited.”

In the most recent NFLPA report card, the Panthers received a C+ in the locker room, a C+ in the training room, a B in the weight room and a D for owner David Tepper.

The Panthers have already begun renovations and construction on the new fieldhouse is set to begin after training camp this summer, but that required Carolina to demolish its old indoor practice facility, meaning the club currently has no indoor facility.

Thielen noted that that’s “a little tough,” and said the team is “making do with what we have as far as locker rooms, meeting rooms and things like that.”

“I think there were plans to build a facility in Rock Hill, but those fell through and we had to go back and figure that out,” Thielen said, “so it’s exciting again to hear they’re going to invest in the players, the organization and the staff. And I think we’re all excited to see that plan come to fruition and put those resources into top shape.”
