When you’re here, be sure to explore the very impressive castle grounds with its historic battlements and stone towers. Well worth a visit. Not only that, but you can also climb to some of the stunning observation decks within the castle, offering sweeping views of the Adriatic Sea and beyond.

3.) Brindisi Archaeological Museum
Want to learn more about the long history of the Puglia region? Then take a walk along the old town to visit the Brindisi Archaeological Museum.
Once here, you can take a peek at some of the artefacts found in the area and learn about lifestyles and political changes across the region. These artifacts date back to Roman times and showcase glassware, weapons, pottery, and statues from the region. It’s a great way to get a glimpse of how people used to live in this part of Italy.

As you know, you can walk the entire length of the Brindisi Promenade from the Virgil Monument to the other side of the harbor. Be sure to stop by important landmarks such as the Villa Museum and fill your stomach at restaurants along the way.

8.) Day trips around Puglia
The whole of Puglia is truly amazing and worth exploring after seeing all the best activities in Brindisi.
If you want to take a day trip from Brindisi, the nearby city of Lecce, considered the most famous of the region, is the way to go. Not only that, it’s beautiful. From Brindisi it’s only 40 minutes by car and Lecce can be reached by private car or by bus or train.
Lecce has some of the most majestic architecture in this part of Italy. The city is full of churches, old buildings and Roman architecture. Lecce’s most famous sights include Piazza del Duomo, Santinicoloe his Cataldo Church, and the Romanesque amphitheater.
If you’re heading north, be sure to visit Ostuni. The whitewashed inland town is very picturesque and well worth a day trip.
