I have been at BuzzFeed for almost eight years now and have written many travel articles, including the luggage scale that this reviewer loves. Heck, the reviewer (and the Buzzfeed audience) love it so much that I thought it was a genius, so I put it in non-travel articles.
That being said, every time I packed my bags on my trip, I did one of two ridiculous options. 1) Using a mechanical bathroom scale, the mechanical bathroom scale has definitely been broken for nearly 20 years. 2) Weigh on a digital bathroom scale and hold your luggage again to do math. Last summer I went on a trip to Cabo and when I left the hotel I did this second option thanks to the size of the bathroom. When I found myself sitting in bed trying to convert kilograms into pounds, I knew I needed a better system in the future.
I bought this before my recent trip to Puerto Rico and am very happy. First of all, I am amazed at how accurate this is. I mean, I knew from the reviews there was that, but this is one of the products you really have to believe in. With an ounce of .02 shy from the weight of the airport scale, this really gave me accurate measurements (and it’s not an easy task in the way I pack my bags. A very large suitcase, 50 pound capacity reached a 3 day weekend). Above all, it’s small enough to store in a suitcase or a carry-on vehicle (mine did the TSA well!). Therefore, if you are like me and enjoy souvenirs at places you travel, you will not be surprised when you return to the airport. Highly recommended!!!
