Zendaya is on the cover W Magazine2025 first issue, Volume 1, Best Performance.
In the issue, Zendaya opened up about the health scare she faced while filming Dune Part 2 and reflected on her loss on Dancing with the Stars in 2013.
A few years ago, Zendaya suffered from heat stroke while filming Dune: Part 2 in Jordan.
“It was so hot that we had to walk to the location and I remember thinking, ‘Oh, the bathroom is far away,'” she recalled. If you have to pee, give yourself at least 10 minutes to get out of your costume. I thought, “Damn, I don’t really want to drink water.” To be honest, I was really scared of peeing and defecating in my suit on set. One day, I didn’t drink enough and got heat stroke. I felt very uncomfortable. I remember calling my mom on the bathroom floor saying, “I don’t feel well.” She asked, “Did you drink water today?” I said no. I thought I was smart, but I can’t do that. So, lesson learned. ”
Zendaya has become a household name in Hollywood since appearing on Dancing with the Stars over a decade ago.
Zendaya didn’t win the Mirrorball Trophy despite her high score on “DWTS.”
she admitted. “Listen, I still have a little bit of animosity about that. I felt that sense of loss. I was only 16, so it was very stressful.” I took it very seriously, but in hindsight I wish I hadn’t. I wish it had felt like that. you know what i mean? But I was stressing myself out. I really struggled with that. ”
Zendaya still uses her ballroom dancing skills in acting gigs, including in Challengers, where she played a tennis player.
“I’m like, ‘If I can do the foxtrot, I think I can learn tennis footwork,'” she said.
Playing a tennis player isn’t easy for Zendaya. He was “really frustrated” that he couldn’t master tennis.
“Some days I was like, ‘Okay, I’m starting to get the hang of it,’ and other days I couldn’t hit the ball over the net. That’s when I realized I was going to be shooting without the ball. All the tennis sequences were so well thought out and choreographed that I said, “Well, maybe I should learn some choreography.” That’s what my body went through. ”I started following my tennis double, who was very talented. I thought it might have worked, but you couldn’t fool Serena Williams. She said, “It turns out it’s not a real ball.” But you were fine. ”
Zendaya’s hard work paid off, as she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her work on “Challengers.”
