The world’s most successful VR game is about to turn 4 years old. Now you can play with the original look.
Beat Saber aficionado and developer Kaitlyn gives fans of the game great joy. Her latest Beat Saber mod allows her to play the game in a menu environment, with the original Early Access version of her user her interface from early 2018. Beat Saber finished that phase and was officially released in May 2019.
Since then, Beat Games has revamped its menu several times. For those who want to indulge in nostalgia or prefer an old design, Kaitlyn’s plugin gives you the opportunity to go back in time.
This is only possible on PC. The Quest version of Beat Saber is not supported.

The mod was created within 2 weeks. “This is the most ambitious mod I have ever created. A lot of time and effort went into making this possible,” the developer wrote.

From unknown indie project to VR phenomenon
It’s been five years since Beat Saber was released in Early Access on Steam.A few months before that, I I met Ján Ilavský, one of the first two developers, in San Francisco. At the time, Beat Saber was still just one of many VR indie games out there, but there were early signs the studio was making it a big hit while it was in production.
Beat Saber became a phenomenon on YouTube the same year and has since sold millions of copiesand is now synonymous with virtual reality and the seller of the Meta Quest 2 system.
Meta recognized the potential and purchased the Czech studio in November 2019. Since then, Meta has been able to decide on a new VR platform to release his VR games. recently, Beat Saber announced for PlayStation VR 2meanwhile, Pico and HTC’s mobile VR platforms have so far come empty-handed.
