You don’t need to tell you that Biden-era policies have exhausted American families’ pocketbooks. But how bad was that? Everything has become more expensive. Food, consumer goods, especially energy. During President Joe Biden’s administration, energy prices rose more than 30% as a direct result of his disastrous anti-energy agenda.
But the Biden era is over, and that is nowhere near as clear as the outlook for America’s energy. President Donald Trump has reversed the course and brought us back to the golden age of America’s energy production. That’s great news for Wyoming and America.
One of the great ways that presidents can unleash American energy is to remove costly regulatory hurdles. On the first day, Trump declared a domestic energy emergency, declaring domestic energy and critical mineral production and lower prices for all Americans. He reversed the Biden administration’s ruthless decision to suspend LNG export licenses. He proposed opening new federal land and offshore locations for responsible leases and allowing reforms. Under the leadership of EPA administrator Lee Zeldin, the administration is protecting Western mining jobs and turning the Biden administration’s attack on US energy.
US federal agency “unleashes” coal energy after Biden holds his breath: “My baby, mine”
The first Trump administration took long-term steps to modernize the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) with the aim of getting through deficits and rapid infrastructure projects. Unfortunately, the Biden administration has quickly dismantled these reforms, replacing them with allowing hurdles and endless environmental reviews designed to stop the progress.

As a result, important projects such as oil and gas exploration, pipelines, roads and bridges are trapped in Limbo as Washington’s bureaucratic machinery is hampering them, rather than lacking capacity or resources. Now, thanks to Trump, America is poised to completely overhaul this permitting process and eliminate liberal inefficiencies and obstructions.
Trump was an ally and friend of the coal nation. Trump knows that intermittent wind and solar are not meeting all energy needs in an age of cloud computing and artificial intelligence demands.
Similarly, Trump was honest with the American people about the importance of baseload energy sources. And we know Wyoming is better than anyone else. We have been America’s number one coal producer since the 1980s, making cleaner baseload energy from coal a reality.
But Trump isn’t happy to stick to what we’ve always done. He wants to innovate. And so is Wyoming. We want to unleash the traditional energy sector while investing in new and exciting nuclear technologies. Wyoming began construction of its first new generation advanced nuclear reactor at Kemmer last year. Once completed, it will provide energy to 400,000 homes and create permanent positions with 1,600 construction jobs and 250 high pay.
Wyoming includes the country’s largest uranium deposits, providing the opportunity to lead the way from mining to manufacturing to energy production. America cannot achieve Trump’s energy goals without nuclear energy. In other words, America will not achieve energy control without Wyoming.
Trump’s energy agenda also cuts American prices and creates good paying jobs in the process. His recent executive order, which aims to increase America’s important mineral production, will encourage employment across the western mining community, which has been left behind by Washington’s elite.

It’s time to restore our legitimate position as one of the world’s leading mineral producers. Wyoming is the key to liberating America from its dependence on hostile foreign forces on key minerals. We have important minerals, we have technology, and we have the labor required to boost their production.
Trump is making America safer by investing in American energy. Energy independence serves as a key national security asset. By reducing dependence on foreign energy sources, America becomes vulnerable to supplying confusion and price manipulation from its enemy.

The Biden administration’s full-scale attack on Wyoming Energy will take years to undo, but we are pleased that Trump and his administration have already stepped forward and are backing up American energy.

After trying to get answers to work from bureaucrats who are concentrated on placing environmental activists on both sides of the Senate during the Biden administration, which spent four years here in the Senate, I am excited to work with Zeldin, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgham and Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. Under Trump’s administration, we know that we will right the ship and deliver his energy commitment to the American people.
Our country is blessed with incredible natural resources that are important to our economic and national security. You must use these resources. You need to invest in energy security. Wyoming is grateful that President Trump is offering his promise to make America’s energy great again.
