Penn Township, Pennsylvania — An investigation is underway following a fatal accident at a food processing facility in Pennsylvania.

of York County Coroner’s Office A news release said they were called to Hanover Foods early Tuesday morning after an employee fell into the bean hopper. He said he was found, but it was not clear how long he had been there.
Employees said that when the victim was extracted from the device, he was “conscious, upright, and initially attempting to walk after removal.” He soon lost consciousness and was pronounced dead when emergency life-saving measures failed.
The York County coroner said an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday morning.The victim’s name has not been released.
In a statement to WHTMHannover Foods said: “First of all, Hannover Foods Corporation would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family and friends of a temporary worker who died early this morning at a canning factory in Hannover.
