A woman’s £8,000 vacation to celebrate her 60th birthday was ruined when British Airways lost her luggage.
Glasgow native Susan Dempster and her friend Hilda McDougall land at Gatwick Airport and are told by BA staff that their connecting flight to Glasgow has been cancelled.

However, after arriving in Edinburgh, they were told by staff that they could not find their suitcases, and two weeks later, they are still missing.
Glasgow native Susan Dempster (left) and her friend Hilda McDougall (right) were told their luggage was missing after a flight from London to Edinburgh.
Mrs. Dempster made countless calls to BA and received an email from customer service stating that the inquiry would be processed within 35 days.
When Mrs. Dempster told a telephone operator that her suitcase trackers were still at the airport, he suggested she travel 526 miles from home to collect them. did.
Desperate Mrs. Dempster said, “All I want is for my luggage to go home for Christmas.
“I was going to send a letter to Santa, but I couldn’t make it in time because the post office was on strike!”
“I really don’t know what to do. I tried to fill out the online lost baggage form, but it only accepts flight details from the City of London.
“When I arrived in Edinburgh, I was told to fill out a lost luggage form, but was now told I should have done it in Gatwick.
It’s a complete shambles. British Airways customer service is appalling and my stress level is at its peak.
“The stress makes me sick and I can’t sleep.”
Mrs Dempster and Mrs McDougall flew from Changi to Gatwick Airport on December 12th after a three-week holiday cruise around New Zealand, before visiting Australia and Singapore.
However, due to snow, my connecting flight from Heathrow to Glasgow was cancelled.
Susan says:
“This was my 60th birthday and it was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list holiday.
“We are members of the Executive Club and have flown many times with BA.
“I just want my package back. Not much to ask, but we’re not going anywhere fast.
Mrs. Dempster has emailed the company’s CEO, but has yet to reunite with the package.
She added: “Our trackers tell us that the cases are still at the airport, but the staff there said they couldn’t find them. We just don’t know what to do.”
The suitcase was then moved to Polar Park on the outskirts of the airport.
Mrs Dempster said, “I have called every office and business in the park and no one has our case.
“I don’t know why they were moved there.
“It’s all very upsetting.”
A British Airways spokesperson said: “We are doing everything we can to reunite delayed baggage with our customers as soon as possible. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience.
