On a now viral TikTok, a woman claimed that Alaska Airlines “lost” her son.
TikTok user Reyna Britt (@sanguinespirited) posted this video on January 6th. As of January 11, the video has over 1.2 million views for her.
In the video, Britt shows his son exiting the gate of an Alaska Airlines flight.
“Alaska Airlines lost my son (whom I paid to care for). Thankfully a complete stranger helped him out,” Britt wrote in a text overlay. .
“A few hours later they called me to ask if I had kids,” the text continued. “They said they lost him because they couldn’t see the strap…more lies. They also said they would call back but never did. Do better.”

In the comments section, viewers blamed airlines for missing out on children traveling as unaccompanied minors. For an additional fee, airlines usually provide airport escort and boarding assistance for children traveling unaccompanied.
“I have flown alone many times, but you should be escorted from the moment you are separated from your parents,” one commenter shared.
“Alaskan airlines are the worst. My sister flew out by herself and my grandma paid for food and drinks on the flight and didn’t give me anything on the flight. They only checked on her once.” wrote another person.
In a follow-up video, Britt says he “spent over three and a half hours talking to Alaska Airlines.” [her]”

A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines responded to the incident in an email to The Daily Dot.
“We are trying to get in touch with the mother. [to] We can better understand what happened,” they wrote.
The Daily Dot reached out to Britt via a comment on TikTok.
