“Please know that this tunnel is not available. Please use this opportunity to use an alternative tunnel,” Driscoll said. “We really hope that people will get out of their cars, stop driving, love it, and continue to use commuter rail and public transit.”
Some neighbors were unimpressed with the proposed alternative.

Joey Price of East Boston said, “It’s going to be terrible for us and for my truck coming out of Valdor Boston. It’s going to affect our business and it’s going to affect my commute. It will affect me,” he said. “Another great excavation. This is not ideal.”
