The winners of this year’s Oscar of Watchmaking have been chosen, with a wide range of timepieces recognized for their engineering perfection and eye-catching design.
The Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix, the world’s greatest watch award, was awarded by Ferdinand Berthoud to the Chronomètre Ferdinand Berthoud FB 1.
Retailing for over $200,000, this limited-edition white gold and titanium timepiece has a leather strap and is powered by a hand-wound movement comprising over 1,120 components.
The public prize, chosen by international online-submitted votes and selected international watch exhibitions, was awarded to 33 bis Quai des Bergues by Czapek Genève.
Watches from the brands Audemars Piguet, Montblanc, MB&F, Piaget, TAG Heuer and Tudor, as well as watches from Chanel, Eberhard & Co, Fabergé and Gronefeld were also honored by this year’s 27 international jury. .
