George Lopez and will.i.am. Teaming up for a good cause.
The Grammy-winning musician and stand-up comedian has partnered with Stand Up to Cancer and Providence St. John’s Health Center to launch a new series of public awareness campaigns to raise awareness about colorectal cancer screening, early detection, and prevention. “Many of us have a personal connection to cancer, myself included,” will.i.am said. “Statistics don’t lie, and I want to encourage others to spread the word, especially those in the black community who need to increase their participation in testing programs.” Keeping it is a top priority. The campaign launched this week in English and Spanish. Will.i.am and Lopez will read the works of two Los Angeles poets for the broadcast and radio portion of the campaign.
“I have been a big supporter of Stand Up to Cancer for many years and am proud to work with them and Providence on this important campaign,” Lopez said. “The more people that get tested, the more lives that are saved. Playing a small part in that means a lot to me.”
