Zoe Kravitz chatted with “Extra’s” Melvin Robert at the LA premiere of her directorial debut, “Blink Twice,” where she arrived with her fiancé, Channing Tatum, who stars in the film.
Responding to the praise she received from her cast, she said, “My cast was amazing and it was such a collaborative process. We all lived where the movie was shot so we became like an incredible family and there was a lot of trust and we were able to get to a really great place as a group.”
Zoe excitedly said about working with Tatum, “It was an amazing experience because I think it’s really wonderful to be able to work with a partner, build trust, and go to places that you might not be comfortable going to with someone you don’t know that well.”
Mel asked, “The film really explores the idea of power. Where in your life did you get the inspiration for this film?”
Kravitz responded, “I don’t have enough time to explain it to you all, but I think for a lot of women, a lot of people who watch this film, there are different ways that they’ll connect this film to their own lives. I think it’s about the human experience, and everyone has some way of dealing with power and the complexities of it.”
She also received support from her “Big Little Lies” co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern at the premiere: “Having them come out like this has been everything throughout the whole process of writing and producing and directing this movie. It was wonderful to let them know that they have a community they can turn to and that they are loved and supported.”
So, will she be appearing in the new season of Big Little Lies? “I’m waiting for the call,” she revealed with a smile.
“Blink Twice” will be released on August 23rd.
