According to NOAA, the Atlantic hurricane season lasts a total of six months. Hurricane season peaks on September 10thmost activity occurs between mid-August and mid-October.
But the peak of hurricane season isn’t the only reason why September 10 is such a big day at Disney World this year. Destination D23“The Biggest Disney Fan Event of the Year” Will Be Held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort From September 8th to September 10th.
The sold-out event will feature presentations from Disney historians, imaginers, cast members, animators and more. Over the past few years, these D23 events have also included some big announcements, including new restaurants, entertainment updates, and product launches.
Tickets for the event have sold out, meaning thousands of Disney fans will travel to Orlando for the weekend’s activities…which coincides with the peak of hurricane season.
Previous severe hurricanes have affected Disney World guests with varying degrees of disruption, including flight cancellations, reduced park hours and even park closures.
