Nicole Brown Simpson’s sisters have been haunted by her murder for 30 years, but the impact it had on them was much deeper than we could have ever imagined.
On June 12, 1994, Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman were found murdered outside their Brentwood home. Her ex-husband OJ Simpson was arrested and charged with murder in connection with their deaths, but was acquitted of all criminal charges. He passed away in April 2024 after a battle with cancer.
Nicole’s sisters, Dominique, Denise and Tanya Brown, spoke with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi ahead of the premiere of the new documentary, “The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.”
Tanya, the youngest, said it took 10 years for the grief to surface.
“Ten years after Nicole was murdered, I attempted suicide. I was so depressed,” she told Mona. “I hadn’t grieved for 10 years, and then 10 years later, a cancelled wedding triggered my near-suicide.”
“I got angry at Nicole, and that’s when I started to get really angry, not only for losing my sister, but for having so many opportunities to share with us what she was doing in her life,” Tanya explained.

They also mentioned Ron Goldman, who was murdered alongside Nicole.
Mona asked how Nicole’s friend Faye Resnick introduced Ron and Nicole, to which Denise replied that she only just found out: “I knew they were friends. I didn’t know Faye introduced them.”
They said Ron had been working as a waiter at Mezzaluna the night Nicole and Ron were killed.
“We had been talking about taking the kids to Yosemite, so it was a great evening,” Dennis said of the dinner.
