Whether you’re working in a customer-facing role or trying to maintain peace in your home, there are many sources of stress.
But anyone, even those in the retail business, can get caught up in a dispute with a customer over a wrong cake order.
what happened?
Vlogger @livebest33_2.0 shared the approximately six-minute video to TikTok, which has received over 100,000 views. She said an employee at Nothing Bundt Cakes accused her of eating the cake even though the order was incorrect.
“Why did you almost have the police called on Nothing Bundt Cake?” she asks viewers. “Let me tell you. First of all, Holi Springs Nothing Bundt Cakes are a no-no. I would never go there. Bundt cakes are nothing, they have been inspected. It’s better. I know it’s a franchise, but this woman is the worst I’ve ever dealt with in my life.”
For the past few years, she says, her family has been ordering Nothing Bundt cakes for Christmas. She said she preferred the two gluten-free flavors because of some of her family’s health needs.
She said she received the cake on Christmas Eve after ordering more than $100 online. Because the store was busy, she did not check the sealed box to see if the order contained 6 gluten free cakes. When the family opened the package, she says, they discovered everything in their order was wrong. There was no gluten free cake and her loved ones could not eat the cake they were given.
“That’s what happened. I thought it was someone else’s order,” she says. “It’s no big deal. I’ll call you the next day and things will take care of themselves.”
belligerent employees
The TikToker called Nothing Bundt Cakes after Christmas and suggested it was “impossible” for a young man to get her order wrong. He said the best they could offer was a credit to replace 4 of them, since they most likely ate them, she said.
After pointing out that she simply hadn’t received half of her order and that her gluten-intolerant family members had left the house and wouldn’t be back until next year, she asked for a simple credit for the six cakes she didn’t receive. say. .
She says the employee’s offer was then reduced to 50% off one cake.
According to her, she was kept on hold on the phone and soon met with the belligerent employee over the phone.
blame game
“All of a sudden, I got off hold and the woman said, ‘Is there a problem?'” she says. “What? Who? [expletive] are you talking about? I was like, “Sorry, what?” She said, “What’s the problem? We didn’t mess up your order. We never mess up an order. ”And I thought, “Yeah.”
When she tried to explain what happened to her order, she said an employee approached her, accused her of eating the cake, and told her she had to prove she didn’t eat the missing cake. As the conversation became more combative, she says the employee told her that he would not address her concerns before hanging up.
When she called the store back, she received a hostile response from the same woman.
“All she had to do was apologize and say, ‘I’m sorry, maybe we made a mistake,'” she says. “If you come back, I’ll give you a credit for some bundt cakes or refund you the money for the 6 you didn’t get. Or give me your email address and I’ll email you a photo and receipt.” ”She never gave me that opportunity. ”
