‘The Golden Bachelorette’ happy couple Joan Bathos and Chock Chapple are talking about their future together.
Extra’s Billy Bush spoke to Joan and Chock after their engagement was revealed in the finale.
Joan revealed that she is in no rush to plan ‘I Should Do’ yet, explaining: We’ll go out to dinner together. We have never been to a restaurant together. ”
“We’ve never spent any time together in public. We’ve never met each other’s friends, as a matter of fact,” Joanne said. “Last night we got in the car together for the first time. There are all sorts of things you need to consider before you start planning your wedding.”
So, when the time comes, will they consider a televised wedding?
Joan replied: “So, I’ve always wanted to do something intimate, and I’ve had big weddings before, but at this point, I want to share with everyone who’s invested in this journey and watched the show. I feel the same way. I feel a little sick.” As if they deserved to see the beginning of a second chapter. ”
Joan and Chock also opened up about learning that they can still love their deceased spouse while still making room for someone new.
In 2021, Joanne lost her husband of 32 years, John, to pancreatic cancer. The following year, Chock’s fiancée, Kathy, died after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Joan and Chock believed it was divine intervention that they met on “The Golden Bachelorette.” “That’s the only logical explanation,” Chock said.
Of the key to finding love on the show, Joan said, “Once I knew I could still love John and find room for someone else, I was finally able to accept it.”
Both Joan and Chock said they received blessings from their partners before they died. Joan elaborated, “In fact, as they were dying, they both said to us, “You’re both young, you need to find love.”
Although the two have just started dating, they already have nicknames for each other. Chock revealed, “She calls me ‘Big Guy’ and I call her ‘Honey.'”
Joan joked, “We sound really old, don’t we?”
Now, a new adventure awaits Joan and Chock as they fly to New York to begin house hunting.
Chock and Joan have an appointment with a real estate agent in a few days, and he reveals that they’re thinking about putting down roots in Manhattan’s West Village.
Joan says, “It’s easy to walk, and when you go outside, there’s already noise around you. We live, you know, and he certainly lives in a quiet area. He’s from Kansas. I’m from Washington, D.C., but I live in the suburbs. We’re ready for a little bit of city life.”
They even have Bachelor alumni who hang out there! Joan says, “There’s a lot of people who can relate to this journey that we’ve been through, so it’s fun to be around them because it makes it a little bit easier.” So Charity and Dotun live in New York City. So are Serena and Joe…the six of us are going to dinner together on Monday night.
