Did you know that during the first week of February, many public schools celebrate Black Lives Matter Week of Action?
Why does a public school, which is responsible for serving taxpayers by educating children about academics and citizenship, boldly claim to “destroy the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure” and promote an organization that inspires people? It’s puzzling to think that it would be necessary to dedicate a whole week to this. Young people rioting. But having been a public school teacher for her 28 years, I know exactly why American schools have lost their educational mission.
reason? A union pure and simple.

In fact, so-called teachers unions helped launch BLM. I know this because they pushed it on the cover of a magazine when my husband was a professor at a national university.
Most people think unions exist to help teachers negotiate wages and working conditions, but after 70 years of being forced to fund unions, my husband and I can’t help but disagree. . Rather than helping teachers, unions damage everything teachers hold dear, including the students they serve. And the damage caused is immeasurable.
Unions are behind the loss of academic freedom in public schools. These are the inspiration behind the politicized curriculum, the decline and decline in performance in language and mathematics, and, most sadly, the sexualization of children.
The biggest promoter of historical revisionism? The so-called teachers’ union. Abortion on demand? Do you keep it a secret from your parents? Change gender? Are you keeping it a secret from your parents? Will we allow men to dominate women’s sports? School education for social activities? Racism? Class war? Labor unions, labor unions, labor unions.
And within the industry, there’s more bad news coming from unions. Unions bully and subvert good teachers while supporting radical activists (including BLM leaders), turning schools into indoctrination centers, and driving out good teachers.
It wasn’t always like that. A generation ago, or even earlier, American schoolchildren were significantly more capable than students in other countries. Here, too, the emphasis was on core subjects, as in Britain, India, and New Zealand.
Not so these days. That’s why about half of the nation’s 4th, 8th, and 11th graders perform very poorly on tests in reading and math. Less than half of them perform at “grade level.” This is an academic standard that has been lowered in recent years because so many students have failed. This is a disaster!
It’s not a pretty sight for parents who want their children to enjoy a richer future than their own. And it’s especially bad because unions are what got us here. Because unions have opened the door for unions and BLM allies who work around the clock to make children believe that they are oppressed or are oppressors.
It’s alarming to point out that tyrants throughout history have used such “divide and conquer” tactics to destabilize and destroy countries, but that tactic is playing out right here in America’s classrooms, all union unions. It’s working thanks to this.
Particularly striking is the proportion of public school teachers who send their children to private schools. Nationally, about 10% of children attend private schools. However, according to an article in Blackboard News, about 21.5% of teachers working in public schools send their children to private schools.
The percentage is even higher in cities with strong union-inspired policies: 44% in Philadelphia, 41% in Cincinnati, and 34% in San Francisco-Oakland.
In Chicago, even the president of the teachers’ union, Stacey Davis Gates, speaks ill of public school alternatives while sending her children to private schools. About 39% of her fellow teachers also agree and send their children to non-public schools.
Parents may wonder, “What do these teachers know that we don’t?” The answer is pretty clear.
Realistically, what alternatives can parents pursue other than unions?
Parents can attend school from home. National organizations like Public School Exit help with teacher and parent training, curriculum selection, textbooks, class outlines, networking, educational cooperatives, and other things that make homeschooling a viable option. I can help.

Online learning has increased especially during the pandemic lockdown.
Non-union public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools (religious and otherwise), co-ops, and one-room schoolhouses are all legitimate options, and enrollment is growing as rapidly as the nation’s public school enrollment has declined. Increased has.

In better days, the educational “troika” that guided American schools consisted of the “educational triangle” of students, parents, and teachers. Today’s “Troika” is sadly made up of trade unions, special interests, and trade union-funded politicians at the expense of everyone else. They worked together to design a public school system that was not only prohibitively expensive and used to promote their children, but also failed to provide students with even the most rudimentary basic education. yeah.

It is by design and an existential threat to America’s future.
Substitutes are constantly being improved. Public schools may one day return to being trusted educators for the nation’s children, but that will never happen unless unions and their allies are completely removed from schools.
