On March 26, word broke that NBC News was rescinding its decision to hire former Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel as a political commentator. MSNBC hosts spent the entire schedule railing against executives who thought they had to pay McDaniel to speak somewhere on this hypnotic/robotic anti-Trump network. started.
Rachel Maddow compared McDaniel to a gangster and a pickpocket in one of her typical half-hour Jeremiah movies. “You wouldn’t do that – you wouldn’t hire smart people, you wouldn’t hire upstarts like gangsters to work in the DA’s office, you wouldn’t hire pickpockets to work as TSA screeners, right? ? . So I think the decision to put her on the payroll is puzzling, and I hope they reverse the decision.”
NBC News didn’t need to hire McDaniel. Some may look at her election results during her RNC tenure and question her expertise in winning elections. But the mob story reiterated that MSNBC is not a “news” channel. This is a hyperbolic channel that constantly instills fear in its viewers that the end of democracy is near.
‘The View’ co-host says media doesn’t need to report both sides after NBC cuts ties with McDaniel
Maddow insisted the hiring is not a Republican versus Democratic issue. It’s a story about “bad actors who seek to use democratic rights and privileges to end democracy.” There are no “fact checkers” to interfere with this meeting. Maddow is like Bluto from “Animal House” saying, “When the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.” Facts don’t matter. All that matters is rallying your audience.
This was the essence of Maddow’s rant. “We want to engage with all of our colleagues at MSNBC and NBC News who have voiced loud and principled opposition to our company putting someone on our payroll who has not only attacked us as journalists. “But someone who is part of an ongoing project to abolish our system of government. Someone who is still trying to convince the American people that this election actually doesn’t work. That the American election was fraudulent. ”

Any conservative who has seen the Maddow conspiracy knows that she was the leader of the conspiracists and the person who relentlessly insisted night after night how the 2016 election was rigged due to Russian interference. know. MSNBC is not suggesting that any elections are fraudulent. The only time you imply that the Democrats were fraudulent (for years) is when they lose.
Maddow has hosted a series of fanathons with Hillary Clinton since she lost the 2016 election and told people the election was stolen from her. They discussed why Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to support Donald Trump in 2016. In 2018, Hillary even suggested that the Russians may have used the National Rifle Association to funnel money into the election.
Mr. Maddow concluded by lobbying executives to allow him on air. “Admit that maybe it wasn’t the right decision. Admitting when you’re wrong is a sign of strength, not weakness. It’s a sign of strength. And our The country needs us to be strong right now.”

It may be the most interesting of all lines. Maddow is famous for refusing to admit he’s wrong, especially when it comes to Trump. In 2019, Washington Post media critic Eric Wemple constructed a devastating timeline of all of Maddow’s promotion of the baseless trove of garbage known as the Steele dossier. He pointed to Maddow calling Michael Isikoff “creepy” and “unwarranted” when he said on a podcast that he had “a lot of confidence” in the document.
Why couldn’t she admit she was wrong? Instead, “Mr. Maddow declined to provide a response on the record to the Eric Wemple Blog.”
