Many years ago, I participated in a classified leak operation at the CIA where our team rescued a source and his family from harm. For business reasons, the source was traveling alone on a separate route from his wife and children. The source had no problem with dangerous espionage, but had to rely on his wife to reassure and guide the children during a difficult one-way trip to the United States.
After all, the source’s wife and children were never involved in covert operations.
I will never forget the tearful reunion of the family after they all arrived safely in the United States and the loving embrace the source and his family shared.

We are deeply grateful to the brave sources who risked their lives for the national security of the United States. And we celebrated all he has done for us over the years.
Dan Hoffman told his wife that he would dedicate his life to raising his sons the way she wanted them to.
But we also realized that it was thanks to the source’s wife that the complex and painstaking theft was completed without a hitch, because the children trusted and loved her. It was she who led them safely to their new home along an unknown, seemingly dangerous road.

My son Nathan learned about the power of a mother’s love last October when he was just 9 years old. At that time, nearly 100 friends and family joined me and my sons in filling the jars full of joy for children with childhood cancer, along with a dedicated Jesse Reese Foundation team.

In addition to stuffing his day in a jar of joy, Nathan continued to direct Coach Faith’s sweaty basketball practice and help out team members at the Jesse Reese Foundation.

Nathan was still full of energy. I asked him what gave Joy the strength to organize, carry, and box his jars into shipping boxes.
“Dad, I’m packing the Joyger today. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Today,” he said.

And it was the same for Nathan. As he rested his head on his pillow that night, he felt a degree of peace and contentment.

It was a day to honor Nathan’s late mother. Her mother, like Jessie Reese, passed away too early after her tough battle with cancer. However, Kim’s spirit gave Nathan the strength to carry on until his righteous work for the day was completed.
A few weeks before she died, Kim told our sons that she would be their guardian angel and watch over them.
