Dana Carvey and his wife Paula are mourning the loss of their 32-year-old son, Dex.
On Thursday, the couple announced the sad news. They said in a statement: “Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, passed away from an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old.”
“Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at many things, including music, art, filmmaking, and comedy, and pursued all of them passionately.” continued. “More than anything he loved his family, friends, and girlfriend Kaylee. Dex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. He will be forever missed.” Let’s go.”
Dana and Paula concluded their statement by sending prayers “to those who are struggling with addiction or who love someone who is struggling with addiction.”
Law enforcement sources Said According to TMZ, Dex was found unresponsive in the bathroom of a Los Angeles home. Paramedics arrived but were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His girlfriend was the one who called 911.
Dex’s cause of death is currently unknown. An autopsy will be performed.
A few years ago, Dex was the opening act for his father’s Netflix stand-up special, Straight White Mail.
