Bucs head coach Todd Bowles capped off an emotional week and emotional game with a postgame speech that goes beyond football.
The Bucks were cloudy in the locker room after the game. 51-27 Draving of the New Orleans Saints. Many players showed great performances, leading to the victory.
Almost the entire offense was firing on all cylinders, and several players on defense had highlight-reel performances. But Bowles took the time to recognize and praise the members of the organization who have put his players in positions of success.

Bowles said this in delivering his powerful comments to the team. Not just today, but all week long. Adversity confronted us. We stood up as a family. we experienced it. He came out today and played a hell of a ball game. And there’s a lot of people involved in that from a game ball standpoint. [Senior director of team operations] Tim Jarocchi, where are you? Tim brought the game ball. ”
Bowles continued, “The ball for the next game goes to the people who kept you and your family safe. Thank you for your help all weekend. They do everything with humility. They do it with the city. They do it as a team. The whole Glazer family gets to get the game ball.”
Last but not least! Last but not least, when we come back, we’re going to have a special game ball for the city of Tampa. ”
Bowles ended his speech by saying, “See you Tuesday!” This led to more cheers from the players, who were looking forward to a well-deserved Monday off.
The Tampa Bay area and large portions of the entire state of Florida were rocked by Hurricane Milton, which made landfall south of Tampa as a Category 4 storm the week before, leaving a trail of devastation and destruction as it moved through the state. Ta. As of 6:30 p.m., there’s still a lot left, 250,000 people Thousands of people are without power in the Tampa area and unable to stay in their homes because of Milton.
Bucs fit into corresponding area resiliency
The Bucks spoke all week about the added importance of representing themselves and their families, who were forced to evacuate in the aftermath of the hurricane, to represent an area still reeling from the storm’s aftermath.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield had this to say about it on Tuesday: [we] We wanted to make sure everyone was safe and everyone was taking the proper precautions and doing what they needed to do to get things done. Thanks to the support of the Glazer family, we were able to relocate here. That’s a big deal. Naturally, they also provided transportation for the team, family, and pets, so it was a tough time just being able to shift our focus to safety first and move on. Oh yeah, I don’t remember much about the Atlanta game. clearly, [we] I had to watch the tape on Monday, fix what needed to be done, and move on. ”
Head coach Todd Bowles also spoke about his preparation for the day.
“I started practicing at Tulane and it started.” [on] Real Friday and Saturday [looking like it could] It hit us… a lot of calls, a lot of work,” Bowles said. “We were torn between New Orleans and Houston, and it was easier to get here to New Orleans than to take another plane and go from Houston to New Orleans for the weekend. We practice and hold meetings at – [we’re] I try to make it as much like a normal Wednesday as possible, other than riding the bus.
“Meeting times, practices, everything else is the same. We’re trying to maintain that kind of structure, and we know [that] When we go back to our rooms, many of us go back to the rooms with our families, but the rooms are a bit small and difficult to concentrate, so we try to get as much done as we can while we’re in the room. Conference room. ”
Much of that preparation will fall on the shoulders of Jarocchi, who is in charge of much of the Bucks’ logistics, with help and support from the Glazer family. Coach Bowles wanted to emphasize how much those efforts led to the Bucs’ success on Sunday. Judging by the authenticity of the players’ cheers as they heard Jarocki and Glazer’s cries, it was clear that the team wholeheartedly agreed with their coach.
Bowles also wanted to give a shout-out to the Tampa area as a mirror to the resiliency the team showed after slipping through a 17-0 lead. To the team’s credit, they defied the odds and kept going until the final whistle blew and they won.
Getting to know the people of Tampa and their character and strengths. Bowles believes they will face adversity as well. And I couldn’t agree with him more.
