After a rough 1-6 start of the season, Washington will play a much better rattle with three wins in a row, looking for a fourth time against the almighty Los Angeles Dodgers.
Despite Shohei Ohtani’s dominant offensive performance, Mackenzie Gore pitched well, earning a 6-4 victory over World Series favorites.
Washington has had an impressive series victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks and was able to do the same for even more impressive teams.
Nationals lineup:
The 24-year-old rookie Blood Lord joins the mound to earn his first career MLB start. The master has appeared three times this season from the bullpen, scoring a 4.50 ERA in two innings.
With Paul DeJohn starting consecutively as shortstops, CJ Abrams again won’t be in the lineup. Alex Cole moves James Wood into two slots in the lineup. Wood acts as a designated batsman today, giving Washington a great defensive force in today’s outfield.
Dodgers lineup:
On the other side is Justin Wrobleski, 24, making his 2025 season debut. Wrobleski began six Los Angeles games in 2024, finishing the season with a 5.70 ERA in eight appearances.
The existing National League MVP leads the loaded Dodgers lineup. Will Smith’s off-day means Austin Burns will hit the lineup ninth. One of the best lineups in baseball is that Freddie Freeman and Will Smith today lack two important contributors, but this lineup still has some amazing bats scattered from top to bottom.
