After losing three of the four in Pittsburgh, the Nationals got a day of rest due to rain and snow in Denver. Today they are working to challenge the 3-15 Rockies team, which has already fired a hit coach. NAT really needs a series victory.
James Wood is getting a leading job today. He’s cooled a bit over the last few days, but hopefully the thin air of Colorado can heat him up. Jose Tena is off to a rare start with 3 base as the Rosary takes a break. Mackenzie Gore takes the mound after an unfortunate effort in Miami last time.
The Rockies don’t have two best players. Ezekiel Tval has been injured and Brenton Doyle is on the bereavement list. Sluggers Ryan McMahon and Michael Togila are names for viewing Gore. Chase Drawland, the ninth overall pick in the 2023 draft, will begin his third career start against NAT today. Right-handed people have a big time.

After missing two opportunities so far on this road trip, the Nationals need a series victory in the worst way. On paper, it should be easy here in Denver. However, the game will not play on paper. NAT needs to go out and win. Go downstairs and head to the Nationals!
