Throughout his career, Josh Bell was an East Feast or Hungry player. Often he’s hot or ice red. So far, Bell was the latter, hitting .133 with .524 OPS. Bell must have better for the NATS attack to run, especially without CJ Abrams. The biggest question is whether Bell is just cold or is he cooked?
Josh Bell has been a late starter in recent years. 2022 was the only year Bell had an OPS of over .705 in April. Last season, Bell got a break at .885 OPS after a long battle with .645 OPS in the first half.
Hopefully, for the people, it won’t take long for the bell to begin. However, there are some indications about the slugger signs that show that he’s not the same guy he was in the first stint in DC. Bell’s OPS has been decreasing every year since 2021. He will turn 33 in August at age 32, and the sturdy hitter may be on the hill.
Bell’s profile of the ball hit is also amazing. Despite having a reputation as a sturdy hitter, his average exit speed is only 84.8 mph. It is in Bottom 5th Percentile. In 2021, his average exit speed was 92.5 mph, with elite numbers. However, the sturdy hitter appears to have lost much of his juices.
Bell has a history of slow start and streak play, so for now he needs to be blessed. But I’m focusing on him. If he doesn’t get hot in May, his playing time could be at risk. This looks like a back nine player of his career.
That’s a shame, as after his horrifying first month in 2021, Bell was a really fun player for Natt. His powerful duo with Kyle Schwarber made me believe again before Nat fell apart and had to enter the complete reconstruction they are now.
Josh Bell was the great servant of the Nats around him first. It is reportedly that the main reason Jarlin Susana was signing the contract was his inclusion in Juan Soto trade. Currently, Susana is one of the most electric pitching prospects in baseball.
Bell seems like a great person too. His book club was a very impressive initiative to make his first progression. Many people are on the bell now. I get to Bell because of his poor performance, but I always like him and the person and player he was new to. I’m rooting for him to get excited. Even last year he showed he has the ability to carry crime due to a short eruption.
Hopefully Josh Bell will do well. Because if he doesn’t, he’ll have to have an uncomfortable conversation about the player I really loved. He’s not worth defensive or base running, so if the bat wasn’t there, he’s not doing anything for the team. Josh Bell needs to move on offensively soon.
