Today, Disney popcorn bucket collectors are full of joy. For the 2024 Epcot International Festival of the Arts, Walt Disney World has released a new Figment-inspired popcorn bucket. This makes us swoon and we demand that Disney take our money immediately. Featuring a purple cutie gliding over a rainbow, showcasing two styles of lights, the look adorablely recreates the Imagination Her Pavilion. Here’s everything you need to know about the Best Popcorn Bucket Ever, showcasing Disney’s favorite snack, and why it’s so popular on the first day of the festival.
More about Disney’s Best Popcorn Buckets: Figment and Imagination Pavilion
The popcorn bucket is constructed from a durable Disney Red colored plastic base. But what’s unique is the upper cladding. Made to look like the Imagination Pavilion and its triangular window panes, Figment is on a much larger scale than the beautiful rainbow popcorn in his bucket and sliding out of his belly. The other side of the interior contains brightly colored coated popcorn. If you’ve ever tried the Tasty Popcorn Outpost in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the texture is similar. To keep the popcorn fresh in Central Florida’s humid climate, the popcorn is wrapped in cellophane, so you don’t have to eat it right away.
An additional feature is that you can choose between two light modes by pulling the bottom safety tab and then pressing the button on the bottom of the bucket. The first is a flashing, color-changing pattern, and the second is colored lights that slowly rotate. It’s beautiful during the day, but the lights look even more beautiful at night and in the dark.
Better than last year’s Figment popcorn bucket
for Epcot International Arts Festival In 2023, Figment’s first popcorn bucket was released and received great acclaim. To make a purchase, people had to stand in line, sometimes for up to five hours at a time. This year, we have created a virtual queue to save you time by allowing you to choose your pick-up time slot. Once the deadline expires and check-in is completed, there is still a bit of a wait, but nothing like last year.
Indeed, last year’s Figment-style Disney popcorn buckets were a breath of fresh air for Epcot, as Magic Kingdom was primarily a park visited for its unique style. Luckily, over the past few years, Disney-themed popcorn buckets have been introduced to match the souvenir sippers, and both are sold separately. With its classic lavender and pink body and orange horns and wings, Figment became an instant hit the day preview photos were released for the festival.
Since Epcot opened on October 1, 1982, Figment has become the unofficial park mascot thanks to his childlike demeanor and imagination. His third and latest update to his feature-length attraction, Journey into Imagination with Figment, introduces a flying dragon alongside Dr. Nigel Channing, played by Monty Python’s Eric Idle. Just this September, Figment’s meet-and-greet debuted to massive fan approval.
