A Walmart shopper recently went viral on TikTok after criticizing the store’s self-checkout system.
Posted by user @thewannabefilmaker video Right after my “worst trip to Walmart.” However, his rant resonated with viewers. As of Monday night, his TikTok had more than 107,400 views, with many echoing shoppers’ complaints.

“Self-checkout was created to make getting in and out of stores faster,” the content creator said. “Now we have people showing up with half the shitty store in their carts. There needs to be a limit!”
Moreover, some customers “don’t know what they’re doing,” he said. And the shopper concluded that Walmart customers “may want to check out.”
“Self-checkout is shit. This shit isn’t working,” he added.
Employees flooded the store with comments, saying they agreed with the shoppers’ sentiments.
“I’m a cashier…and I agree with this,” one person said.
“They make me self-check out sometimes, which is terrible,” added the second worker. “People with carts full don’t know anything, they don’t listen, and I can’t help them when I’m busy.”
Others praised the ease and convenience of self-checkout.
One user shared, “I don’t like interacting with people I don’t know, so I only use self-checkout.”
Another viewer said, “I don’t like talking to people, so I always go to the self-checkout.”
Indeed, at least one Walmart customer said he agreed with @thewannabefilmaker’s view. And they added another complaint to the list: self-checkout speed limits. “If you go too fast yourself, the item will stop ringing,” they write.
