“When you play bad, you want to bounce back. We had a good week of practice and understood what we did the week before. The focus was on that. It was more for us than it was for everyone else. We’re mad at ourselves. So after a performance like that you want to play well and you think those guys are locked in. Do you look in the mirror? , you either run from the mirror. We looked at ourselves in the mirror and came out and played a good ball game.”
Todd Bowles limited Derrick Henry to just 20 yards of offense:
“You know, we made plays beyond the line of scrimmage. Henry, he’s a tough guy, he’s going to be tough every week from now on. Once he starts running, don’t let him start running. If he can catch up to you even by 4 or 5 steps, he’ll come rushing down the hill. You can stop it early and put them in a situation the second time around. We were able to do that and I think that helped us.”
Todd Bowles said of veteran linebacker Lavonte David’s play.
“The fact that he’s still playing like he’s in the prime of love, preparing for love, playing like he’s practicing, the way he moves around is on a whole other level.”

Todd Bowles said this about trying to slow down 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.

They have so many weapons and can do so many things. He’s a great running back without weapons. “There’s no question, he’s a great receiver, he’s a great blocker.
