This year marks the first year for the improved bleachers, built with a $750,000 grant from the state, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Monday, July 22.
Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s fair.
Admission fees and parking
The fairgrounds are located at 1715 Fairgrove Ave. and open at 7 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. Parking is available off North Fair Avenue, and a separate entrance on the north side of the fairgrounds is accessible by foot.
Standard daily admission is $10 per person, and $5 for children ages 6-12 accompanied by an adult. Seven-day and four-day multi-day passes are available for $35 and $25, respectively. Parking is included in all admission prices.
Seniors 62 and older and veterans will be admitted free on July 24. On Saturday, July 27, there will be a reduced admission fee of $5 for adults and children ages 6-12 will be admitted free.
For grandstand events, attendees will have to pay $10-15 per event, while children’s tickets are $5 per event. Grandstand wristbands for all events can be purchased for $40 for adults and $15 for children.
what’s new
This year’s fair will have a new entertainment tent set up next to the Farm Zone. The tent is part of a new addition: live music every day. Butler County Fair Board Chairman Doug Turner said the event wanted to offer something new for fairgoers.
“Every time we come to the fair we try to add something different, so not everything fits,” Turner said.
“We’re lucky to be a part of the fair,” Turner said of the stage, which will feature a lineup of local artists, who will perform each day from 2 to 6:30 p.m.
