Chase Stokes and Keith Powers spoke to Extra about “Uglies,” the film based on the young adult novel by Scott Westerfeld.
The story is set in a grim, dystopian future where beauty standards are enforced, including mandatory cosmetic surgery for teenagers.

He continued: “Hopefully, watching this film will flip a switch that says, ‘Instead of focusing more on that, I need to work more on this.'”
Keith added, “I think right now is the peak of what social media is and how young people perceive celebrities and influencers and so on and compare that to real life… [the film is] It’s highly relevant and could be extremely beneficial right now.”
They also talked about the stunt work! Keith said, “We had a really great stunt team… Once we practiced, [felt] I’m the most confident.”
