The new United Football League announced its 43-game schedule on Monday, starting with a matchup between the champions of the two leagues that form the league on March 30th and ending with the championship game on June 16th.
UFL teams will practice in a central location near Dallas, but will play five games each in their home markets as part of a 10-game schedule. The league, created last year through the merger of the XFL and USFL, opens March 30 with a game between the USFL champion Birmingham Stallions and XFL champion Arlington Renegades at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas (1 p.m. ET/FOX).
Here’s the rest of the opening weekend schedule:
• St. Louis BattleHawks vs. Michigan Panthers (March 30, 4 p.m. ET/FOX)
• DC Defenders at San Antonio Bramas (March 31 at noon ET/ESPN)
• Memphis Showboats at Houston Roughnecks (March 31, 3 p.m. ET/ESPN)
The UFL will hold two conference championship games on the weekend of June 8th and 9th to determine participants in next weekend’s league championship game.
All UFL games will be broadcast on either ABC, Fox, ESPN, ESPN2 or FS1. ABC/ESPN games will be streamed on ESPN+ and Fox games will be streamed on the Fox Sports app. Almost three-quarters of the games will be broadcast on ABC or Fox.
“The UFL will have a special platform for fans to experience spring football. We look forward to welcoming new and returning fans back into our buildings this season and soaking up the energy of spring football. We are equally excited to do this,” said Russ, UFL President and CEO. Brandon said in a statement. “Our players are here to perform and reach the next level, and our fans will be treated to great on-field production and an in-stadium experience.”
