Prince Harry’s British tabloid lawsuit could be settled.
Prince Harry claims that a British newspaper used illegal tactics to dig up dirt on him and his wife Meghan Markle, and the tabloids are apparently trying to hush up the whole incident. .
Both sides in the case tried to delay the trial on Tuesday after a tabloid reported that Prince Harry had been offered a “huge payout”.
He is scheduled to testify next month and, if he loses, will face legal costs for both sides, which could run into the tens of millions of dollars.
Last year, Prince Harry appeared in Britain’s ITV documentary “Tabloid Trial” and explained his hatred for tabloids.
Prince Harry, who won $180,000 in a February 2024 phone hacking scandal, has no regrets about taking advantage of the system, which he claims his late mother Princess Diana endured in the press.
Prince Harry believed Princess Diana was “probably one of the first people to get hacked” in the 90s.
He said, “Even today, the press, the tabloids, really enjoy portraying her as paranoid, but she wasn’t paranoid about what was happening to her.” She was absolutely right. And she’s not here today to find out the truth.”
Prince Harry also explained how his battle with the tabloids deepened the rift between him and his father and brother in the royal family.
He said, “Oh, sure, that’s the central part. But you know, this is a difficult question to answer, because if I say anything about my family, I get a lot of abuse from the press.” Because it will happen.”
“I made it very clear that this is what needs to be done,” Harry added. “It would be great if we could do that as a family. Again, from a service standpoint and when we’re in public roles, these are things we should do for the greater good.” But you know, I’m doing this for my own reasons.
“For me, the mission still continues, but it continues, yes. So, as you say, part of the rift caused it,” Harry pointed out.
