INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Several Eagles rookies are scheduled to make their NFL debuts Sunday against the Rams at SoFi Stadium.
For the first time in their young NFL careers, third-round offensive lineman Tyler Steen and seventh-round defensive tackle Molo Ojomo are active.
None of them were active for the first four weeks.
Here is a list of the Eagles’ inactive players for Sunday:
DT Fletcher Cox (rear)
DT Marlon Tuipulotu (triceps)
S Sydney Brown (hamstring)
RB Rashard Penny (illness)
QB Tanner McKee
TE Albert Okwuegbunam
The trio of Cox, Tuipulotu and Brown were ruled out Friday, as was starting right guard Cam Jurgens, who has since been placed on IR. Jurgens will be sidelined for at least four weeks.
This is the first time Cox has missed a game due to injury since 2017. He received an epidural in his back last week and is expected to miss only one game. The Eagles, who are without Cox and Tuipulotu, have Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Milton Williams, Kentavious Street and Ojomo at DT for this game.
On the offensive line, the Eagles are expected to start Sua Opeta in place of Jurgens. Opeta is a veteran who came to Philadelphia as an undrafted rookie out of Weber State in 2019. Opeta has played in 29 games and started four.
The Eagles’ backup offensive linemen for this game will be Jack Driscoll, Steen, and Fred Johnson.
Sunday will be Bradley Roby’s Eagles debut. The Eagles signed him to their practice squad last week, and the 31-year-old was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday. Roby missed the first four weeks of the season but was in camp with the Saints. Still, expect the Eagles to limit his snaps a bit.
Punter Braden Mann got another promotion Saturday and is active. The Eagles will make a decision after this game, as this will be his third and final promotion. They have one roster spot open.
Another piece of news regarding this match. Punt returner Britten Covey has cleared concussion protocol and will play against the Rams.
