According to a new help page spotted by The Verge, consumers can sign up for $84 a year ($7 a month), saving them $1 over what they used to do. Internet users can now sign up for the service for $84 per year, saving between $8 and $1 per month. Similar discounts are offered not only in Japan, but also in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, all of which offer Twitter Blue.
The social networking platform owned by Elon Musk seems to require as many users as possible to sign up. His daily earnings on Jan. 17 were down 40% compared to the same day last year. information claims over 500 Twitter advertisers have stopped spending on the site.
Previously, Twitter Blue users had to choose between an $8/month web subscription or an $11/month iOS subscription (customers being charged 30% of what Apple charges). However, iOS users can sign up online to avoid paying the extra $3. and save $36.00 annually.
Benefits of upgrading to Twitter Blue include a more prominent “verified” badge, priority in response queues, and up to 60 minute video uploads. Users can also take advantage of features such as undoing and editing Tweets, customizing app icons, themes, navigation, and bookmarking Tweets.
Before the Musk acquisition closed, Twitter reported revenue of $1.2 billion in the first quarter of 2022, of which $1.1 billion came from advertising and subscriptions.
