Former President Trump has derided liberal actor Robert De Niro as “pathetic” and “a weirdo” after the actor’s chaotic press conference outside a Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday was widely mocked.
In a late-night post on Truth Social, Trump slammed the two-time Academy Award winner, who has long been a fierce attacker of Trump, claiming on Tuesday that Trump “wants to destroy the city, the country” and ultimately the entire world.
“I had no idea how small former actor Robert De Niro was both mentally and physically,” Trump wrote around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.
“Today, outside the courthouse, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable disease commonly known in medical circles as TDS, encountered a force far more powerful than the radical left: MAGA.”

“Since entering politics at the behest of the unscrupulous Joe Biden, Robert’s films, artistry and brand have declined significantly and he looks very pathetic and sad,” Trump said. “Where is Joe DiMaggio!!!”
Conservatives likened the press conference, which was interrupted by hecklers and car alarms, to an episode of the HBO satire show “Veep.”
“Donald Trump is trying to destroy not only our city, but our country, and ultimately potentially the world,” De Niro raged Tuesday, reading from prepared remarks.
“I owe a lot to this city, so it’s so strange to have Donald Trump across the street. He doesn’t belong in my city. I don’t know where he doesn’t belong, but he certainly doesn’t belong here. We New Yorkers tolerated him when he was just a dirty real estate guy pretending to be a big shot,” De Niro added.

De Niro was joined by Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler, who called Trump an “agent of chaos,” former Washington Metropolitan Police Department officer Michael Fanone and former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn, both of whom were at the Capitol during the January 6 riot.
They have sharply criticized Trump’s actions surrounding the riot and say he is unfit to return to office.
Things quickly became chaotic after the speech, with Trump supporters heckling De Niro as he left the stage, and he even got into a shouting match with a man wearing a MAGA hat, who called him a “failed actor.”

The Trump campaign held a separate press conference on Tuesday following the Biden campaign and De Niro’s.
Stephen Chang, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, called the Biden campaign’s press conference “election interference at the highest level.”
“Evil Joe Biden and his campaign are in total panic,” he added.
