US President Donald Trump issued an executive order Wednesday aimed at implementing the Department of Government Efficiency’s willingness to cut costs, the White House said.
The order, according to the text, “transforms federal spending on contracts, grants and loans to ensure that government spending is transparent and that government employees are responsible for the American people.
All federal agencies must review “waste, fraud, abuse” contracts and grants for “waste, fraud, abuse” contracts and grants, and work with DOGE employees to review and terminate all “unnecessary” contracts, according to a copy of the fact sheet provided by White House officials.
According to the fact sheet, the order directs the General Services Bureau, which manages the federal real estate portfolio, to develop a plan to “dispose of unnecessary government-owned or leased properties.”
