Donald Trump declared victory in the presidential election early Wednesday morning as he led Republican Kamala Harris in the expected electoral vote count.

But after NBC News predicted he would win Pennsylvania, he fell just four electoral votes short of that goal.
“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of electing me as our 47th president and our 45th president,” Trump told supporters at a convention center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
“It is now clear that we have achieved the most incredible political thing,” he said.
“We’re going to help this country rebuild,” Trump said, surrounded by his family and campaign officials. “We’re going to fix everything about this country.”
“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” he said, including helping his fellow Republicans regain a majority in the U.S. Senate.

“This will truly be America’s golden age,” President Trump said. “This is a great victory for the American people, and it will help us make America great again.”

Harris was scheduled to address her supporters Tuesday night at Howard University, the Democratic Party’s alma mater, in Washington, D.C.
But the vice president chose not to speak and is instead scheduled to speak later Wednesday.
