Aiken County Chapter of Jack & Jill America presents Luminary Gala Saturday, Jan. 20, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 1060 Center Street, North Augusta. Tickets are $125 per person. The dress is a black tie. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the African American History, Arts and Culture Center and the Jack & Jill Foundation of America. Community Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Held Sunday, Jan. 21, at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and event begins at 3 p.m. Alex English, a member of the USC Board of Governors, retired coach, business leader, and former NBA player, will be the keynote speaker. This event is sponsored by Aiken Technical College and USC Aiken. Admission is free.
