A random adventure, a carefree evening with new friends in foreign lands, delicious food for bargain prices, and the luxury of time to enjoy it all.
Welcome to the world of Long trip.
When it comes to this type of trip, I get lots of emails asking for “secrets.”
How often and long travel? How did you quit your job and escape the crush? You need to have a trust fund to buy it all, right?
It’s wrong.
I wrote it How to travel In the past (That’s all and That’s all Again, but people still think I’m holding back something.
What am I excluded? What do they ask that they escape the cubicle and be nomads? Have you won the lottery? Do my parents pay everything?
There Must do It makes me very special.
Well, it’s here! The big secret of long trips is…
there is nothing.
There’s absolutely nothing!
There is no special secret.
Vagabonds, Nomads and long-term travelers are nothing special. There are no superpowers or secret Swiss bank accounts. There is no money tree Or the ability to teleport anywhere.
of course, Privilege necessarily plays its rolebut we are not unique and do nothing special. This type of travel has been carried out for decades by people from all parts of the world from a variety of backgrounds.
Long term travelers seem like you.
When I first discovered a long trip, I thought the backpackers I met in Chiang Mai had discovered a secret from life that I didn’t know existed.
However, when I reached the road myself, I realized there was no secret. I was neither unique nor special. Millions of people did this every year. flat People who are practically not worth money It was making it work.
I left the house thinking I was going on an exciting adventure. Khao San Road And I’ll hang out Amsterdam During the summer. In those places I met travelers, both old and young, who were doing exactly the same thing as me.
These travelers did what they wanted – an innovative idea for me at the time. But now, after years of travel, I realized it wasn’t that innovative. If people really want something, they do it. If you need a big screen TV or a new computer, find a way to make it happen. If you really want to eat sushi for dinner, you’ll eat sushi for dinner.
If you really want to travel, you’ll do that too.
Because just as you found a way to pay for that TV or your new car, these travelers simply arranged their lives so they could I can afford to travel.
The only thing these people didn’t have before was their desire to do what they wanted to do that was freed from society’s expectations simply because they enjoyed it.
They simply said, “I want to travel,” and worked to make it happen.
They saved more, did a second job, stayed home and found work abroad rather than eating or drinking. They did whatever it took.
As stated in saying, where there is will, there is a way.
It’s that easy.
People ask me if I’m worried about my bill, my retirement, and my future. To be honest, it’s not.
When you travel for a long period of time, all of them disappear. There is no bill because there is no home. You just use what you use every day (usually Less than $50 a day).
My mother said she should start saving more for retirement, so we can wait for that… Travel more.
She then stopped herself and said, “Well, I think you’re already doing it, so don’t mind!”
I have a great belief in the idea that we should not leave our lives and do our job We should take a short break to pursue our passion. Why do I have to spend my best years in the office and save money for the ages I may not see, or do I get too sick to enjoy watching?
Yes, we save a little long-term traveler for rainy days, but we’re not worried about the future. We’re having fun now. Take care of your present, and your future will work well in itself. Once you stop traveling, you will understand:
So when you ask travelers how to do it and say there is no secret, they are not lying. We simply made a conscious decision to do it and then worked towards our goal, Save money and plan Like what you do for other goals and ventures in your life.
That’s the secret. So now that you know it, start making your travel dream come true!
