The Central Bureau of Statistics in Jerusalem reported that 4.5 million tourists visited Israel in 2019. The total population of Israel is her 9 million, and the geographical size of Israel is comparable to that of New Jersey. Amazing number of visitors!
Most visitors who travel to Israel do not consider themselves tourists. More than just a holiday, millions of people visit Israel each year as part of a spiritual pilgrimage.
They make a spiritual pilgrimage to Israel to visit the place where the Bible declares that God became man in Bethlehem. You can stand near where the cosmic cosmic creator was born as a soft, fragile baby.

They also make a spiritual pilgrimage to Israel to visit the place where our Immanuel, “God with us,” died for us in Jerusalem. Our Almighty Creator showed his love for us when he bled to death for our sins on the cross of Rome.
Last year, I had the honor of traveling to the Holy Land with good friend Pete Hegseth, co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend. The purpose of this trip was to shoot a documentary about the life of Jesus from the very places where he lived, died and was resurrected.
As hundreds of millions of Christians begin to ponder the Passion of Christ during Holy Week, here are some powerful ways the Holy Land affirms the infallible testimony of Scripture.
1. The Triumph of Jesus
In the documentary, we walk the very steps that Jesus walked on the first Palm Sunday when the crowd shouted “Hosanna.” For example, the southern staircase leading to the temple is beautifully preserved to this day. As her Reuven Doran, director of the Sar-El Academy, explains in the documentary, “If you have the technology to scrape DNA content in these steps, you will find his DNA in the Son of God!”
2. The Garden of Gethsemane
On the descent of the Mount of Olives, you can still visit the place where Jesus cried out to the “father” on the eve of his crucifixion. The Garden of Gethsemane today contains olive trees that are nearly 1,000 years old.
Older than some of the oldest trees in the world, Jesus could see from Gethsemane where the Roman guards nailed him to the tree. He has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse to the law, because “Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree” (Galatians 3:13). ESV). He told Gethsemane that the curse in the Garden of Eden could only be lifted by the cross.

3. Via Dolorosa
In the Old City of Jerusalem today, you can walk the Via Dolorosa, which means “sad road”. We can trace the steps by which Jesus was flogged beyond the human form (cf. Isaiah 52-53). You can walk the same route that Jesus took his cross to Golgotha (“Place of the Skull”). From sorrow to skull, from condemnation to crucifixion, Via Dolorosa is the painful, lonely and humiliating path taken by the Son of God to save us from sin. Friend, this is the love God has for you.
4. Garden Grave
Outside the city’s north gate is what many historians believe may have been the actual site of Jesus’ crucifixion. and revival. Adjacent to the hill that looks like a skull is a garden tomb believed to have been described in the Gospel of John 2,000 years ago. No one had yet been put to bed” (John 19:41 ESV). Golgotha and the Garden Tomb bears witness to the historical accuracy of the Bible in amazing detail.
Finally, a visit to the Holy Land takes us deep into the Bible. There we learn how our holy God saves unholy sinners through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Reverend Steve Lawson once said, “The stone was rolled out of the tomb, not to let Jesus out, but to let the world in.”

Even if you can’t literally set foot in the garden tombs of Jerusalem, you can still make a spiritual pilgrimage in your heart. The Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). increase.
Visiting the Holy Land is an amazing experience, but even more wonderful is the final Promised Land, where Jesus will wipe away every tear and make everything new! (Revelation 21:1-5)
