The Recruit, directed by Alexi Hawley, returns to Netflix for Season 2. Netflix announced the renewal in January, a month after the start of Season 1. Filming for the next season was scheduled to begin in June, but was pushed back to August. Filming will continue until October. However, the ongoing WGA strike may cause further delays.
Noah Centineo will reprise his role as Owen Hendrix in Season 2. Interestingly, Centeneo started the production company after Season 1 of The Recruit started, and will be Executive Producer for Season 2.

Alexi Hawley, the show’s writer and creator, is thrilled with the renewal. he says,
We are thrilled to be re-entering the fun, entertaining and action-packed world of The Recruit. Seeing the show’s adventurous take on the world of espionage and how engrossed viewers were in Noah’s turn as Owen, it’s incredibly rewarding, and it’s making me want to turn everything up to ’11’ in Season 2. can’t wait
in an interview with ColliderHawley said she was not thinking about the second season while writing the first season. He said,
I know a thing or two about where I want to take it and where I want to go with it. Obviously you want success, but as you can see from the ending, I wasn’t going to fail. Because I think in this day and age you have to be bold, you have to be dramatic. everything else. And don’t worry about Season 2 or Season 3 or beyond. Ask yourself, “What is the best version of this story so far?” And trust people will come to it. And it will take another hit.

Recruit Season 1 has performed extremely well in the first month of its December 2022 launch. The season was among the top five on Netflix worldwide, with a total of 228.26 million hours watched. The decision to renew the show was not surprising. At the helm of The Recruit, Alex Hawley has produced network television hits such as “Castle,” “The Rookie,” “The Following,” and “Body of Proof.” No wonder Netflix bet on a second season of this show.
No release data has been officially announced, but we can expect The Recruit Season 2 in 2024.
