Jenna Fischer, best known for her role as Pam on The Office, has opened up about her battle with breast cancer.
The 50-year-old actress wrote on Instagram: “Last December I was diagnosed with stage 1 triple positive breast cancer. After surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I am now cancer free.”
She added a photo of herself smiling with a short “do” and wrote, “To match this news, I wanted to take a photo of myself looking happy and healthy in a spotted pixie,” and wrote, “The Office.” alumna Angela Kinsey’s husband Josh Snyder. Ms. Fisher included a carousel of slides detailing her experience.
“Back in October 2023, I posted a photo of myself preparing for a routine mammogram on Instagram and, like Michael Scott, said, ‘Watch out for the ticking time bag.’ I included a tongue-in-cheek reminder: The mammogram was inconclusive due to the density of the breast tissue, so the doctor ordered a breast ultrasound. They found something in my left breast. A biopsy was ordered, and on December 1, 2024, I was diagnosed with stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer.
She described the cancer as “aggressive” but “very responsive to treatment.”

From there, she underwent a lumpectomy and, due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, chemotherapy and radiation to “keep it from coming back.”
“I started 12 weekly rounds of chemotherapy in February and three weeks of radiotherapy in June. And I’m continuing treatment with Herceptin IV and daily Tamoxifen, and I’m feeling great. I’m happy to say that.”
Jenna lost her hair during chemotherapy. But “Thanks to my wonderful wig and hat with hair (which my family affectionately called Wiggat), I was able to wait until now to reveal everything that was happening to me.” ” he said.
She said Angela “protected me and represented me” while she received treatment and continued to work.
“When I lost my hair, she wore a hat to work meetings so I wasn’t alone. When I needed a break, she took a break,” Fisher said.
The star also thanked her husband Lee for being by her side through “surgeries, chemotherapy, doctor visits, endless Google searches, and late night ugly screams.” He was there for everything. ”

She added: “I recently underwent re-examination and I am happy to say that the treatment was successful. I am cancer-free and will continue to receive treatment and monitoring to ensure I remain cancer-free.”
Fisher wanted to share her journey, saying, “I want to encourage everyone to get a mammogram once a year,” and “I want to be a source of support for women who are going through this.”
She ended her message by referring to “The Office” and writing, “Hear from Pam and her Pam Pam. Michael was right. Check them out.”
