Today, I will build the Washington National Dream Team. By celebrating the 20th anniversary of the team, it feels like a good time to look back on the best players who play for the team.
That’s right Wilson Ramos。 The catcher was not the strongest in NAT, but Ramos was a solid player in DC for many years. Buffalo came to DC with a transaction that sent Mat Caps to Minnesota, one of Mike Ritzo’s best movements. He was a starter behind the plate from 2011 to 2016, hit .268 in .743 OPS. His best year was his last year, where he made an all -star game and hit .307 with .850 OPS. If Ramos did not, who knew what they could do in 2016? Falling his ACL Late September.
In one BASE, we will go with the nationals themselves Ryan Jimmann。 OK, this is a kind of misconduct, given that his highest year was in 3 Base, but there was no way to release Anthony Lendon. Zimmerman is the most symbolic player in team history. Z-MAN holds many franchise records, including play, hits, and home runs. Zimaman spends the entire career in NATS and is a hero of the community. The World Series won the World Series in 2019, with the thick and thin team with the thick and thin team in The Cherry on top on the them. Number 11 is GOLIATH of DC.
2 on Base, I will go with me Daniel Murphy。 Murf had not been in DC for a long time, but I was convinced that these 2 years had a good time. After entering the free agency, Murphy was built based on the play of Mets and raised the game to a new height. Murphy went to a legal MVP candidate from the first Base of a solid sin. He hit .347 in .985 OPS in 2016 and finished second in MVP voting. Murphy was amazing in 2017, with average .322 and .928 OPS. He is a special DC batter and has no other options, so he is a 2 -base choice.
With a short stop Trail turning A clear choice. Ian Desmond has a great year, which is worth screaming, while trare is an obvious choice here. The Turner may come to three teams only a few months after being drafted by a padres, and may be the best player in history. Trair played in the center field in the 2016 breakout season, but settled as a full -time short stop. From 2017 to 2019, he provided a consistent and wonderful, refreshing power/speed combination. In 2020 and 2021, Turner raised the game to a new height and established himself as one of the best short stops in sports. As NATS had declined from the competition, they decided to exchange Tree and Max Scherzer with what they were found to be an overwhelming package.
3 Base has two Tony bags. Anthony Lendon。 His career was out of the Los Angeles rail, but Lendon was an amazing citizen. He was probably the best player in the 2019 World Series team. Lendon was a tremendous clutch in the 2019 playoffs, and was a legal MVP candidate for the year. He finished third in the voting, recorded 1.010 in .319 and 1.010 OPS. Lendon also had a tremendous defense in 3 Base. His natural talents showed the game easily.
The field on the left was probably the most difficult decision for the team. It went down Alfon Sosoriano and Jason Worth。 After all, I chose Soriano for his rule. After all, Worth had only two elite seasons to DC himself. That’s why I go to Soriano’s historic 40/40 season. It was the only 40/40 season for over 15 years. I want to reward Soriano’s absurd rule in this list.
putting Blythe Harper There are a few police officers in the center field, but he played for a long time, especially at the early stage of his career. Blythe was a genius, and he knew it. His cheeky attitude rubbed the wrong way, which gave him a big fanfare. He also had enough fields to back up the lecture. Harper made six All -Star teams as NAT and won MVPs. His 2015 season is one of the best seasons of the 21st century. Blythe hit .330 in 1.109 OPS and proceeded along the 42 home run. He is the number one enemy recently released in DC, but it is also important to remember all the wonderful memories of Blythe brought to us.
In the field on the right, I go with another original teen feeling Juan Soto。 Soto also departed for a more green pasture, but he was not hated as a harder for the fact that he was traded and won the World Series. Soto was only 20 years old and was most of the 2019 team. Young people always had supernatural abilities to get on the base. His .421 career OBP is simply ridiculous. The fact that he had to exchange his caliber player at the age of 23 was really courageous. Soto is the best pure batter to play in NATS, not close.
The first member of the start rotation is Max Shaser。 At that time, Shang was signed by the best free agent in history, despite being called overpayment. Scherzer was the top five in the first five seasons of the whole country in the CY Young voting and won two awards. In addition to his advantage, Shazer was the greatest competitor I’ve ever seen in NATS uniforms. Until the game up to the game 7 days later, until the game could not get off the bed, Shazer was a man until he broke his nose. He is my favorite player.
Steven Strasberg SP2 slot of all-nats team. You can discuss whether Strerburg has responded to his sky expectations, but his status as a legend of Nut has no room for debate. He was a legend of playoffs, and ERA was 1.46 in 55.1 play -off. His body did not cooperate with him for his career, especially the big chunks after 2019, but he was very good at 3.24 ERA when he was in the mound. The strolls have always stepped up when the people needed him most. The ending may be ugly, but that doesn’t stop recognizing the greatness of Strasberg.
SP3 is the winner of the first 20 games in the history of NATS. Gio gonzalez。 When NAT traded with GIO before the 2012 season, it was an intentional signal. He rewarded the religion with the 20 victory campaign and the top three CY Young finish. That was his best season. GIO has settled as two or three starters that are good but frustrating. He was good consistently, but a few people were always walking too many people, especially in the game. However, with 3.62 ERA at the start of 213, in a particularly good season in 2012 and 2017, Gonzales was worth the price paid by NAT to win him.
SP4 is a reliable Jordanjiman. J-Zimm was a professional professional and had a beautiful pitching mechanism that I tried to reproduce growth. From 2011 to 2015, Zimmermann was one of the best pitchers in baseball, but did not get the type of awareness of the shadow of people like Strasburg. His moment, he came in the last day of the 2014 season when he threw his first no -hit in team history. It was a pure joy moment for Nationals fans. Despite all his achievements, Mike Rizzo’s decision to walk Zimmermann was one of his careers. By 2015, Zimmermann was still good, but not his dominant self. Ritzo made him go to Detroit, where his thing worn further.
SP5 is an explosion from the past Rivan Hernandes。 Burly Right Hander appeared on EXPOS when he moved to DC, and was excellent in 2005 and became an all -star team. After being traded in 2006, Rivan returned to DC for the 2010 and 2011 season. He was an amazing veteran of their young NAT teams. He was the largest NAT pitcher of the period before 2012. Rivan respects a good pitcher for a long time. He was also a very good personality.
The near place was a close battle Chad Cordero and Sean Doulitter。 Eventually, I used DoolITTLE to contribute to his playoffs. The unusual Southpaw was dominant as NATS approached in 2017 and 2018. He has a wonderful start in 2019. After that, I used it too much because I carried a terrible bullpen. However, after IL stint, he rejuvenated. In the playoffs, DoolITTLE shared the responsibility of closing with Daniel Hudson. He recorded 1.74 ERA nine times during the post season. Like many players on the team, he wasn’t the same since 2019, but put everything on the line to get the ring. Doolitter is currently contributing to the organization as a pitching strategist.
This was a wonderful article to look back on all of the hero last year. I hope that people like Jameswood, Darkeru, and McKenje Gore will appear on this list in the 25th or 30th anniversary series.
