There Many Things to watch at the U.S. Open this week include a few great players looking to reclaim their title (go for it, Coco!), some blindingly fast serves, and some surprising celebrity sightings (Alec Baldwin, how are you?).
And, following the tradition of previous U.S. Open tournaments (and tennis’ long, fashion-centric history), the players hit aces and took to the court. Appearance. Here are some of the boldest, most colorful outfits spotted at a big party in Flushing, Queens this week, be sure to add them to your court mood board.
1. Coco Gauff (USA)
After a disappointing and tearful exit from the 2024 Olympics just a month ago, Coco Gauff stepped onto the court on the first day of the US Open in a bid to reclaim the women’s singles crown in 2023, wearing a custom yellow and cornflower blue New Balance kit. Judging by her accessories, Gauff appears to have gotten over (or even embraced) the upset in Paris: She wore her Olympic ring necklace as she beat France’s Varbara Graczeva to reach the next round.
