Tesla Milan Kovac, vice president of Optimus Robotics, said on Friday that he was leaving the company.

Tesla is developing Optimus with the aim of one day selling it as a bipedal intelligent robot that can do everything from factory work to babysitting.
On the first quarter shareholder deck, Tesla said “it is the target of the 2025 Fremont Pilot production line Optimus build, and the wide range of bot deployments are doing useful work in the factory.”
At Tesla’s 2024 annual shareholders meeting, Musk characterized himself as “pathologically optimistic,” and later argued that humanoid robots would increase the company’s market capitalization to $25 trillion on unspecified future dates.
Over the past few weeks, Musk told CNBC’s David Faber that Tesla is currently training the Optimus system to do “primitive tasks” such as picking up objects, opening doors, and throwing balls.
Competitors in this space include Boston Dynamics, Agility Robots, Apptronik, 1X, and Diagrams.
Kovac previously served as the company’s director for Autopilot Software Engineering. He rose to head the company’s Optimus unit as vice president in 2022.
Personally, musk thank you Kobak is a “outstanding contribution” to business.
