FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Yosemite International Airport was evacuated Thursday morning after a suspicious object was discovered, according to airport officials.
Officials said the item was found in the airport’s main terminal area. The Fresno Police Department’s bomb squad was called to the scene and examined the device.
Fresno Police Department officers directed people to move outside the airport, and dozens of travelers waited on the sidewalk.Police officers began arriving around 5 a.m.
The road to the airport entrance was blocked off by police and travelers were allowed to re-enter once the area was deemed safe.
